DOJ Fires Former FBI Director’s Daughter
Comey played a central role in several nationally significant legal proceedings.
Among them were the recent sex trafficking case involving Sean "Diddy" Combs earlier this year and the investigation and conviction of Ghislaine Maxwell, a major associate of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
She had been working within the US Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York, one of the most influential prosecutorial branches in the country.
One insider stated that the dismissal was justified by referencing Article II of the US Constitution, which defines the president’s executive authority.
Nick Biase, the spokesperson representing the Southern District of New York, opted not to offer any remarks regarding the matter.
James Comey has remained a figure of political controversy, particularly in connection to former President Donald Trump, who dismissed him from the FBI amid the 2017 Russia investigation.
This latest development emerges at a time when Trump is attempting to distance himself from followers urging the release of files associated with the Epstein scandal.
"My PAST supporters have bought into this ‘bulls---’ hook, line, and sinker. Let these weaklings continue forward and do the Democrats’ work…I don’t want their support anymore!" Trump posted on his Truth Social account Wednesday.
