2 officers murdered as army jet collides in N-Morocco

(MENAFN) Two military officers tragically lost their lives on Monday when a training aircraft crashed at Fez-Saiss Airport, located in northern Morocco, the Royal Armed Forces announced. The aircraft involved was an Alpha Jet, a type of plane commonly used for pilot training purposes. According to a military statement, the jet went down while conducting a routine training flight, resulting in the deaths of both the pilot and the co-pilot aboard.

The Royal Armed Forces confirmed that the two officers were engaged in a standard training mission when the accident occurred. However, the exact circumstances surrounding the crash remain unclear and are currently under thorough investigation. To determine the root cause of the incident, a special commission has been set up to examine all possible factors. This includes assessing whether the crash was due to technical problems with the aircraft, errors made by the pilots, or external environmental conditions.

Authorities have emphasized their commitment to conducting a detailed and careful inquiry to understand what led to this unfortunate accident. Meanwhile, the military community mourns the loss of the two officers who were serving their country during the training exercise.
