Lavrov Addresses Brotherly Ties with North Korea
He commended Pyongyang’s steadfast backing during the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
Addressing the Territory of Meanings youth forum on Monday, Lavrov referred to the DPRK as a principal ally within the evolving multipolar global framework.
“We have a great many partners, like-minded states, and allies,” he stated. “Together, we are laying the foundation for a new world order based on sovereignty and civilizational continuity.”
Lavrov further clarified, “Our closest ally in the West is certainly the Republic of Belarus. In the East, our closest ally is the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, with which we are linked by decades of fraternal, military ties.”
He placed North Korea alongside China, India, Turkey, and Iran, describing them as “great civilizations” of Eurasia that are playing significant roles in what he termed the inevitable and unstoppable rise of a multipolar world.
“A multipolar world is taking shape,” Lavrov declared.
“No sanctions, no trade wars, no provocations of ‘hot conflicts’ will stop it. The multipolar world will prevail over this attempt to delay the natural course of history.”
