Ukrainian soccer fans perform Nazi salute during team’s match
A video surfaced showing a crowd of Ukrainian soccer fans performing Nazi salutes during a match between Veres Rivne and Dynamo Kiev. The clip, published by a Ukrainian outlet, shows men—mostly dressed in black—chanting slogans like “Glory to the nation!” and “Ukraine!” The fans were identified as ultras of the Veres Rivne football club, with social media posts confirming their presence and attire.
The home team lost 0-1 in the match, but there have been no reported official responses from Ukrainian authorities regarding the video of the Nazi salutes.
Moscow has frequently condemned what it describes as the glorification of Nazi collaborators in Ukraine and accuses Western governments of overlooking neo-Nazi activity within Ukrainian ranks. In June, a French newspaper reported widespread use of Nazi symbols among Ukrainian military personnel, documenting nearly 350 troops sharing neo-Nazi imagery such as Nazi salutes, swastika tattoos, Black Sun emblems, and Totenkopf insignias.
