Xi says fifteenth five-year plan has to be based on citizen’s inputs

(MENAFN) Chinese President Xi Jinping has emphasized the importance of studying and integrating opinions gathered from netizens in the development of the country’s 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-2030). His remarks came after an online initiative aimed at collecting public feedback on the plan.

Xi, who also serves as general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, made these comments in an official instruction.

The online consultation took place from May 20 to June 20, attracting over 3.11 million suggestions from citizens nationwide.

Describing the campaign as a vivid example of whole-process people’s democracy, Xi praised the broad participation and extensive reach of the initiative.

He noted that many valuable ideas were submitted and urged relevant authorities to carefully analyze and incorporate these inputs into the plan.

Furthermore, Xi called on Party committees and government bodies at all levels to deepen their understanding of people’s daily lives, actively listen to their views, and widely gather ideas to better fulfill citizens’ aspirations for improved living standards.
