Iran Rejects G7's Accusations as "Baseless," "Irresponsible"
The G7 issued a statement on Friday, accusing Iran and its intelligence apparatus of "transnational repression" and engaging in "malign activities," including attempts to kill, kidnap, and intimidate political opponents abroad.
Iran swiftly denounced the allegations as "false," accusing the G7 of spreading a "flagrant distortion of realities" and engaging in hypocritical behavior. The Ministry further criticized the group, asserting that those making such claims have themselves played a role in fostering lawlessness and contributing to global insecurity.
The Iranian government also called on G7 members to account for their actions, which it argued contribute to destabilizing both regional and global security. Tehran specifically highlighted the G7's role in what it termed as complicity and partnership with Israel in its ongoing breaches of international law in the occupied Palestinian territories.
