US Lawmaker Criticizes EU Leaders’ Stance on Russia-Ukraine

(MENAFN) U.S. Representative Anna Paulina Luna has accused European Union politicians of exhibiting “sociopathic” tendencies due to their apparent determination to obstruct any progress toward peace negotiations between Russia and Ukraine.

The Republican congresswoman from Florida expressed her views on her X account on Monday, alleging that EU officials appear “comfortable sending youth from both nations to die if it serves their own self-interests.”

Luna remarked that she was witnessing EU leaders “condemn peace talks between Russia and Ukraine while none of them are the ones fighting on the front lines.”

She emphasized that such officials were “advocating for the erasure of [the] entire bloodlines of Russian and Ukrainian families,” a stance she labeled as “sociopathic.”

In another post, Luna responded to Marko Mihkelson, the chair of Estonia’s parliamentary foreign affairs committee, who had criticized her for holding a meeting with Russian presidential aide Kirill Dmitriev the previous week.

Mihkelson described Luna as an “otherwise normal person from the free world” who had, in his words, become “so dependent on a dictatorial mindset.”

He further questioned her motives, asking, “Naivety? Money? Stupidity? Belief in conspiracy theories?”

The congresswoman countered his remarks by asserting that “just because I’m not a war-shill doesn’t mean I’m wrong.”

She further underlined that “Americans have zero interest in dying in a foreign war or a nuclear arms exchange,” reiterating her opposition to U.S. involvement in overseas conflicts.
