Erdogan expresses happiness for Syrians striving to build their nation
Speaking at a Human Rights Day event in Ankara, Erdogan said the smooth implementation of Syria’s March 10 agreement would disrupt the plans of malign actors seeking to exploit a weak, divided, and unstable Syria.
“We are pleased to see Syrian people striving to rebuild their country over the past year despite all the hardships,” he said, emphasizing that Türkiye and the Turkish nation fully support Syria’s reconstruction, recovery, and rebuilding efforts.
Erdogan also highlighted the plight of Palestinians, asserting that their patience will eventually be rewarded with freedom and peace through the establishment of a sovereign Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The March 10 agreement, announced by the Syrian presidency, envisages the integration of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF)—dominated by the YPG/PKK—into Syria’s state apparatus, reaffirming the country’s territorial integrity and rejecting separatist ambitions.
