Armed Intruder Gets Fatally Shot After Entering Trump’s Residence
According to official statements, the incident occurred shortly after 1:30 a.m. local time when the individual was spotted near the estate’s northern entrance. He was reportedly carrying "what appeared to be a shotgun and a fuel can" at the time he approached the secured perimeter.
A spokesperson for the US Secret Service, Anthony Guglielmi, stated on X: "A male in his early 20s was shot by US Secret Service agents and a deputy from the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office following an unauthorized entry into the secure perimeter at Mar-a-Lago,"
Law enforcement personnel, including Secret Service agents and a deputy from the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office, responded swiftly to the scene. During the confrontation, officers instructed the suspect to drop the weapon and the container.
Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw explained the sequence of events, stating: "He put the gas can down and pointed the shotgun at officers,"
Authorities then discharged their firearms. Sheriff Bradshaw noted that it remains unclear how many rounds were fired, though he confirmed that body cameras were operating during the encounter.
The Secret Service’s Special Agent in Charge, Rafael Barros, reiterated the account, saying the suspect was armed and carrying a gasoline canister when "agents and the deputy discharged firearms to stop the threat."
The man was pronounced dead at the location. Officials reported that no members of the Secret Service or the sheriff’s office sustained injuries. At the time of the incident, neither Trump nor any other individual under federal protection was present at the estate.
